How we review tools

Every rating on AISoftALT comes from the same five checks, applied the same way to every tool — paid partner or not.

  1. Criterion 1

Does it actually replace the original?

We start from the job people hire the old tool for and check whether the AI tool can finish that job end to end, not just demo well.

  2. Criterion 2

    Output quality

We run comparable tasks through each tool and judge the result the way a client or manager would — not by how impressive the marketing page is.

  3. Criterion 3

    Ease of switching

Import paths, file formats, collaboration and export options. A tool that traps your work loses points.

  4. Criterion 4

    Pricing honesty

We record the real entry price, what the free tier does, and whether usage credits run out faster than the pricing page suggests.

  5. Criterion 5

    Reliability and support

Uptime, speed, and whether a human answers when something breaks.

Scoring

Each criterion is scored out of five and averaged into the rating you see on tool cards. A tool never gains points for being new, popular or well funded.

What we can't verify

We can't test every workflow, every plan tier or every language. Where our experience is limited, we say so on the page instead of guessing.

Updates and corrections

AI pricing and features change monthly. We re-check listed tools on a rolling schedule and correct pages as soon as a reader flags something. Spotted an error? Tell us or submit a tool.
